# Perplexity Ask

**Description:** Perplexity Ask MCP server provides AI assistants with access to Perplexity's AI-powered search and research capabilities. It enables intelligent web searches, source-cited answers, and comprehensive research queries for enhanced information discovery.

**Configuration Parameters:**

* **The base URL for the Perplexity API.** \* - Service instance URL. Default: `https://api.perplexity.ai/sonar`
* **The API key for Perplexity.** \* - API key for authentication

**Setup Steps:**

1. Log in to your Perplexity account
2. Navigate to Account Settings → API Keys
3. Generate a new API token or key
4. Copy the token for configuration
5. Ensure your account has appropriate permissions for Perplexity API access
